I planted 4 of these in Spring 2020, and they've added several inches this summer and are now blooming their purple flowers. They accept a wide range of soil and moisture conditions. Mine get around 6 hours of sun. I dipped all my plants' roots this season in Myco Bliss Organic Mycorrhizal Fungi before planting, and it may have helped. I also protected these plants with Plant Knights (cages) so that the rabbits wouldn't eat them.

Q:
Will trimming these make them come back bushier?

A:
No, we don't recommend trimming blazing stars. As the plant matures, it should have multiple stems and get a bushier appearance.
