Description
Gray dogwood is fantastic for wildlife. Dome-shaped panicles of white flowers provide nectar & pollen for numerous insects, such as bees, butterflies, beetles, and native flies. It is a very important forage plant for white-tailed deer. Because of its suckering habit and ability to sprout from underground rhizomes, it can withstand some deer browse. White berries develop in summer on panicle branches that have now turned an attractive red color. The berries are a good food source for birds and other animals.
