Description
A very showy, early blooming species for shaded to partly shaded perennial gardens where it thrives in good, rich soil. Creeps slowly from the plant base outward along nodes on the stem. Will also come up from seed if leaf litter is removed in the spring. You may need to protect wild sweet william from rabbits.
Companion plants: Squaw weed, Celandine poppy, Columbine, Jacob's ladder
Uses: shade gardens, hummingbirds, butterflies, drought & deer tolerant

Seed: Harvest in May. Seed pods turn tan and pop, so store harvested seed in brown paper bag until ready to sow. Sow seed asap, and look for a few seedlings by fall. The rest will germinate early next spring.
