Description
Yarrow has soft, fern-like foliage. Because it spreads underground, it can make a nice groundcover in sunny locations--for the same reason, use caution when planting in a flowerbed.
Uses: groundcover, butterflies, showy flowers, deer tolerant
Bloom time: May - July
Height: 2 to 3 feet
Space: 1 to 2 feet
Sun: Full sun to light shade
Moisture: Dry to average
Seed: Harvest seed July/August. Much of the seed is ready to germinate. A cold, moist stratification of at least 2 to 4 weeks will increase germination. The tiny seeds need light to germinate, so don't bury them.
At least 200 seeds per packet
178,250 seeds per ounce
1 ounce per 6,000 square feet (yields 30 seeds per square foot)
